You find a job that looks like a great fit. You take the time to write a proposal, spend the Connects, hit send, and check back hoping to see a message.
Then… nothing. After enough of that, it’s hard to know what to work on. The proposal? The profile? The way you’re talking about your skills?
Clients don’t see your whole profile at once in search results. They get a short preview, including the beginning of your overview. Your headline and first few sentences need to make your value clear and earn the next click.
Your opening paragraph is what I call your hook. It should help the right client recognize their problem, see how you could help, and want to keep reading. That’s why I spend the most time on your headline and hook.
When a client opens your profile after reading a proposal, those same first lines need to back up the reason they clicked.
Once they’re on your profile, the rest of the copy needs to help them take the next step: send a message, book a call, or start talking about working together.
Your headline and hook do most of the heavy lifting in that first impression. We’ll start with the parts that need to make a client want to read on, then work through the rest of your profile so it supports the same message.
Different options built around your work, your strengths, and the clients you want to reach.
Your hook is your opening paragraph. You’ll get at least two complete options, written to connect with your client and give them a reason to keep reading.
Pick what fits. Play with the options. Make the final profile sound like you. 💛
What’s working, where the message gets lost, and what I’d change in that first impression.
What deserves to stay, what could come out, and the gaps that might be making the profile less persuasive.
When a different way of framing something makes the suggestion clearer, I’ll write it out so you can see what I mean.
The why behind the recommendations, a tailored practice prompt, and clear next steps for making your updates.
“The fact that you took time to write out multiple options AND gave me a prompt to generate my own variations is very generous.”
After checkout, use the submission form to share your profile, services, and the clients you want to reach.
I review your message, edit the recommendations, and put together the feedback and rewritten options for you.
Read through the why, choose the words that fit, and update your profile with a clearer sense of what to say.
Erica Nall · Your reviewerI’m an Expert-Vetted (top 1%) sales copywriter on Upwork. Writing for attention and action is what I do: finding the words that help someone recognize their own problem and see a reason to reach out.
For the past year, I’ve been bringing that same thinking to my students’ profiles inside FREELANCE with ERICA.
And yes, I’ll tell you what you’re doing well, too. A useful review helps you recognize the good stuff so you can keep building on it.
Here’s what students have shared after getting feedback, making changes, and putting the teaching to work. Tap any screenshot to read it larger.
“Big Day Today Just notified that I reached Top Rated Plus and topped 20k income. It was only 6 months ago that @Erica Nall reviewed my profile and I was agonizing over not getting any answers to proposals. All I can say is thank you Erica for your help in getting me started.”
“OMG this was so much more feedback than I was expecting! I can't thank you enough. It truly feels like you're invested in my success.”

The review includes rewritten headlines, opening hooks, and sections where showing a different approach is useful. A complete, done-for-you rewrite of every section is not included. You choose the options that fit and make the final updates to your profile.
Yes. You need an existing profile for me to review, but you don’t need a long client history. The feedback starts with your experience, the work you want to offer, and what you have on the page now.
After checkout, you’ll receive instructions for the submission form. You’ll share your profile link, current copy, and context about your services and the clients you want to reach. You won’t need to share your Upwork password.
Please allow up to 10 business days (2 weeks) after you submit your profile for review to receive your completed review.
Your first eligible profile review is included with the $33/month Premium membership. If you’re already a Premium member and haven’t used that benefit, check your eligibility before buying a standalone review. Proposal reviews and private calls are separate offers.
No. A clearer profile can help you communicate your value, but your proposals, job selection, experience, client demand, and the work you put in all affect your results. No review can promise a contract or a specific income.
Yes. The separate $79 proposal review focuses on feedback and copy edits you can use to build a stronger framework for future proposals. It’s not a rush service for a particular job deadline.
